More Mini Quilts!

I am addicted to these mini quilts they are so cute & fun! Here are a few I sent out for some recent swaps!

I almost kept this one I love the colors & design.

I paper pieced this one using freezer paper! I love this technique!

This one was for a swap using only solid colors! It is called a stained glass.

This is a mini hexagon quilt I received from a swap

I am now inspired to try a hexagon design!

These are mini quilts from my Great Grandmother

These hand sewn Mini quilts were received from my Great Grandmother in 1998. She was in her late 80's when she made these for me. I Love the little note it says

Dear Megan,

I give this pretty gift in every stitch a thought, for hopes you'll like it better, than the one I might have bought.With Love Great Grandma Palsgrove

March of Tools

This is my tribute to Heather Bailey's March of Tools!

My choosen tool is a Singer Ball Bearing Hand Operated Pinker.

My mother is guessing it at around 50yrs old, but we can not place

where we got it from. It has a metal clamp that clamps to the edge of a

table to hold it in place while you crank!

I remember at a very young age sitting at my mothers kitchen table

cranking everything I could through it just to see the wavy edge!

My sons little hands find it just as fascinating!

I have such great memories & now we are creating more!

My Little Dolly Daisy.....

So it has been a pretty slow week around here not much going on which I guess is a good thing! So today I got the itch to make something, after I took my son to pre school I got to work. I have always wanted to design a doll! After 8 hours here is what I came up with.

(Also in the photo is my new Mushroom I got for my birthday I love it, it is a lawn decoration but I am not sure I can bare to let it outside to get dirty so for now it sits on my counter where I can see it. I think it is the perfect backdrop for my new dolly!)

I named her Daisy!

I love her little red shoes & Pop Garden Dress!

She has flower petal hair.

So I still have some design issues to work out with the overall pattern but I am sure you will see more of these in the near future!

That bag has a great use of angles...love the diamonds and how you continued that in the quilted design on the linen. Where do you get your linen? I have begun to wonder about using linen in some of my projects.

It's Give Away Time!!!!

Fabric Tray Tutorial

Materials Needed:

2- 12" x 12" Fabric Squares

1- 12" x 12" Fusible Fleece

Iron

Sewing Machine

Grosgrain Ribbon

Straight Pins

Start with the 2 Fabric Squares and the Square of fusible fleece. Iron desired fabric to fusible fleece. You will need 8- 4" pieces of grosgrain ribbon.

I used a lighter to heat seal the ends.
Measure 2" in from every corner and pin ribbon in to place.Stitch ribbon in to place. Then lay the 2nd fabric square on top placing right sides together.Pin into place.Stitch a 1/4" seam all around leaving a 3" opening to pull fabric right side out.

Snip all 4 corners off.
Pull fabric through the opening. Turning right side out

Use scissors to help turn the corners.

Do not push too hard or the tip will poke through the fabric.

Finger press the edge seams down. Then Iron.
Using a 1/4" seam top stitch all around the square.
Tie sides together.Knot into place.Now your fabric tray is complete!Bottom view.
Fill however you like! Works great to hold sewing supplies!

Makes a fun message holder!
Here I placed the ribbon ties 3" at each corner this will make taller side walls!

I missed my Birthday..................
