Quilt Festival Fall 2009

This is my favorite quilt at the moment! It is the quilt that I completed with Old Red Barns Quilt Along. I chooses all of the prints that I liked, though in the beginning I was not in love with them. They however grew on me and now I LOVE this quilt! I love it so much it has inspired the design for my new bedroom! I knew it was a good thing my my dear husband told me this quilt did not give him a headache and he actually liked the color combo, so I decided to run with that!
I will be hanging it behind our bed on the wall kind of like a headboard.
Here is the back side.
I even made a matching pillow and have a few more in the works!
These are the paint colors for the bedroom and master bathroom!

Take the time to look through the other bloggers that have joined in the quilt festival! So much inspiration and so many beautiful designs!
Have a Happy Day! Meg

Cupcake Tin Crayons The kids love this idea!

Perfect for a rainy day these Cupcake Tin Crayons are perfect to help keep the little ones busy! Please note this is not my original idea, I have been making these since I was a little girl! But for those of you that have never done this before I will fill you in!
Materials needed:
metal cupcake tin (I used a mini one)
old broken crayons
optional metal fine flake glitter
oven set to 300 degrees

If you are like me you have a whole mess of broken crayons around your house!
First peel off all of the paper wrappers.
Then break them in to small pieces and place in the tins. I fill mine about 3/4 of the way full.We added a shake of metal fine flake glitter to ours!Place in the oven set a 3oo degrees. It is important that you do not leave them in too long just until the wax is all melted this takes just a few minutes, my mini tins were done in about 5 minutes. DO NOT LEAVE UNATTENDED IF THEY GET TOO HOT THEY COULD CATCH ON FIRE!!!!!
Let cool 5-10 minutes. Then I place mine in the freezer for 10 minutes and they pop right out!

the color combinations are endless................
let the fun begin!!

Have a Happy Weekend! Meg
