Hi Meg, I couldn't find your email address, but wanted to know if you could pop on over to the SMS Forum. In the "Sewing Patterns" section, there's a new post up regarding a measurement question. If you could take a look and see if you can help out the sewer that would be great! BTW- It's a wonderful project! Thanks, ~ Irene
I just wanted to let you know I've mentioned your tutorial in a must have/make list of my blog, The Handmade Experiment. Check it out and let me know what you think! http://emilyflippinmaruna.wordpress.com/2009/04/27/get-outta-here-and-go-outside/
Hi - you probably field a ton of questions about your great play tent tutorial and I have a couple more to add to the list!
How high should the tent end up being? If we shimmy the elastics down far enough and splay the poles out wide enough so there's not too much drape and the hem is maybe 1" above the ground, our tent comes out to just over 4' high. If we adjust the elastics any higher on the poles, we get a taller tent, but then it looks like it's wearing high waters! Help!
I've got a couple questions about the tent and getting a square out of the 60 inch fabric. should i cut off the extra 3 inches and mqke the half circle from the shorter length? I'm probably over thinking this but I amnew to sewing etc. also you didnt say how far down to cut the top circle. this is such a great tent. I am making it for my daughters Peter Pan birthday party for Tiger Lily;s tent!
Meg, you are amazing!
