I wanted to have a tutorial finished to post, I made this little notebook cover, but then thought there are already so many wonderful tutorial out there already! Like this one, and this one and this one is great too.
So Here is a bit of mine in photos...
I started with lots of 2" x 2" squares.
Stitched them together.
The used Fusible Fleece and the Texture Magic. Iron on the Fusible Fleece
and the pin the Texture Magic in to place.
Quilt the seams to hold the Texture Magic in to place.
The using a STEAM IRON "DO NOT TOUCH IRON TO TEXTURE MAGIC",
you hold over iron a few inches over to steam and the fabric starts to shrink.
Depending on where you stitched your fabric to the Texture Magic
is where it will pucker. I ran my stitches on all of the seams
to create little pillows of patches!
Your creative ideas are endless with this product!
This is the back view of the mini notebook holder

Happy Giveaway Day! Meg
Neat product. I've never seen it before. It could really come in useful. I've got all kinds of ideas floating around in my head.
ReplyDeleteAs far as a product that I like. It is actually one I have never used because yesterday is the first time I saw it. It was the tread fabric that you find on the feet of children's footy pajamas. I never thought about being able to buy that. A lady from England was in JoAnns in Knox. TN buying it. She was so happy to find it.
Very cool! One of my favorite tools that I use all the time is my 6 1/2" cutting square. It's so small it doesn't get in the way and it's great for trimming those "little bits" that get left over!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very cool product. I've never seen anything like it before! Thank you! I don't know how FUN this product is but I can't live without a rotary cutter! It is a necessary tool in my kit!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing, I love your blog!
Deborah
How fun! Please enter me in your giveaway! Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteI've been having fun with elastic thread lately - was intimidated by it for SO long. But it's easy and so many possibilities! Texture Magic looks like lots of fun as well!
ReplyDeleteI am such a big fan of your bags. You always come up with such fun designs. Great give away, too. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteVery cool! My favorite thing right now is elastic thread for shirring. With three little girls, I am shirring everything!
ReplyDeleteWow! that looks like a really neat product! I've never seen it before. I really like heat n' bond. I use it to stiffen up purse handles and make easy appliques.
ReplyDeleteHow adorable! The product I like best... shirring elastic. I'm always finding new things to shirr!
ReplyDeleteJust found your site, learned out how to make a fabric flower, use grommets (which i have been wondering about), vistited your etsy site, and oh one last thing I LOVE YOUR HAIR CUT!!!!! I am so glad they had this giveaway so I could find your blog.
ReplyDeletehappy giveaway day to you too! my fave sewing product would have to be fabric ink! thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting such a great giveaway!
ReplyDeletecount me in, please!!
great product :D
go see my giveaway

The product I like the most ? At this time, I could'nt live without my rotary cutter. It makes cutting easier and faster.
ReplyDeleteIt is the first time I sew that texture magic product. Special.
Wow, I would love to win this and make it for one of my young cousins. As for a product I love, it has to be my grandmother's sewing machine, which I'm learning to use! Makes me feel close to her.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting product! Thanks for introducing it to me. Your notebook holder is fabulous! I take one wherever I go to keep track of things. Please enter my name in your delightful drawing. Many thanks, Cindi
ReplyDeletejchoppes[at]hotmail[dot]com
I have never heard of Texture Magic but it looks like it would be fun to play around with. The sewing tool I could not live without: a good pair of left-handed scissors!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE me some double fold bias seam binding! I use it for everything, binding quilts, pot holders, clothing, applique, everything! I have the tools to make my own but it's just too easy (and cheap when it's on sale 50% off) to buy it premade. :)
ReplyDeletelooks like fun stuff, I'd love to give it a try on some projects. One project I am loving right now is doing some embroidery for my daughter's wall. It's been ages since I've done it and it is quite relaxing. thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love sewing skirts. It doesn't matter the pattern.
ReplyDeleteI love making little projects - like chequebook covers, key fobs, notebook covers, tissue covers - such a quick way to make a great gift.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so neat! How fun! I don't do a ton of sewing, as I'm brand new to it, so I don't really have favorite products yet. Anything that makes it EASY! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool, I've never seen that! I am fairly new to sewing, so my favorite tool right now is my seam ripper! :D
ReplyDeleteOh wow that is neat! Count me in!
ReplyDeleteNeat! I've never heard of texture magic before, I'll have to check it out. One of the sewing products I love is the pincushion that has a wrist strap. It sure does make life a lot easier with some projects.
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating in the giveaway and feel free to check out my blog as well for my entry!
I have been wanting to try Texture Magic and just have not bought any. Your tutorial is great to show how to use it.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a fun little product; thanks for sharing. My favorite sewing product would have to be my rotary cutter. My most essential product would be my seam ripper-must learn to think before acting!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a really neat product. I cannot live without my various scissors - each has a purpose and no one is allowed near them. I have even at times hidden them so that they are not used for paper cutting and whatever else!!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of this product and would love a chance to test it!! My fave fun tool is my ruffler foot, it saves tons of time and frustration:) My fave functional tool is my buddy the serger!! Thanks~!
ReplyDeletehttp://AmybugsOriginalStyle.etsy.com is the best way to reach me by sending a "convresation"
This product is new to me too. Worked pretty neat on your item! My favorite sewing product is my serger. I love the finished look it gives to even the simpliest project. If a serger is not considered a product, I would have to say I like the set of plastic chop sticks I recently purchased. The fine point helps me turn corners much better than the wooden blunt-end sticks I had been using. Thanks for sharing in this giveaway. http://sewmanyprojectssolittletime.blogspot.com hellopf@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute notebook cover! That product looks like lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteThe product I like is the Gypsy Gripper! Helps that ruler to stay in place while I cut!
Thanks for the giveaway! :)
What a fun product! I've never seen it, never even heard of it! That's one of the GREAT things about blogging and bloggers. I always learn something new! Right now I am loving fusible web. I would NEVER have tried Applique without it!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Dionne
Wow, interesting technique! Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite new product is the Clover Desktop Needle Threader. I won it from my quilt store. I did not think I would use but then started using small quilting needles. It has been fantastic. Your giveaway is great! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing (because I am not nearly as great as you at sewing) is fabric tape. Whatever I can't sew I use the tape on and it's been great. Maybe that's sort of cheating but it works for me! I've done things like window treatments and aprons for my daughter's birthday party. They turn out great and no one ever knows. Although someday I hope to be much better at sewing.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteRight now I very excited about my first online quilt-a-long! Can't wait to get it finished! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeletewow i had completely forgotten about this stuff! how fun it would be to try to use it...well not try...but to actually get to use it!
ReplyDeletei know its not a new product, or very fun, but my favorite sewing tool is my water soluble marker. I use that for everything!!! I also recently bought a iron on transfer pencil to help me transfer designs when i go to embroider something. Sure beats holding fabric up to the window!!
Love it! The colors you used are so fun and bright. It would be fun to make something cute for my little girl with it. Something I HAVE to have is my rotary cutter. She much faster than scissors.
ReplyDeleteI love heat n' bond hem tape. so quick and easy. This Texture Magic looks like something fun to play with. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen this stuff before but looks fantastic!
ReplyDeletegreat product!
ReplyDeleteI couldn´t live without the "magic pen". (I don´t know what it´s called in english. You can wash it off when you´r done sewing)
Take care!

ReplyDeleteLooks like a really fun new product.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite project was making coffee cozies for my guild quilt show boutique. I made 20. They were quick, easy and I got to use lots of scraps. And they all sold.
Sue Cahill (sboetsue at yahoo dot com)
My favourite project is crazy quilting - no matter what it starts off as it morphs into something completely different!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool product, that would be so much fun to play with. My favorite tool is my Ginghar True Lefthanded shears. It would be almost impossible for me to cut any fabric without these.
ReplyDeleteThat sure is a cute product. Wonder what I could use it for?!!

ReplyDeleteThat stuff looks awesome! I had not seen this before.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to pick one notion or tool, cause I'm a notion addict. But I think probably more than anything would be my 6 inch see thru ruler!! Use it constantly!!
So cool. That would be very interesting to learn. What a great idea for your giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love the look this product makes. I am not an avid sewer so, I don't really have a favorite sewing product. If I have to have one, I'd say plain old needle and thread.
ReplyDeletembabecka@hotmail.com
that is so cool! how did you find that? I would love to win something like that!
ReplyDeletei am an FOE aholic. do you ever go to Angry Chicken's site? she does everything with it.. it's great!
Wow! That looks exciting. And I love patchwork!! My favourite tool- oh dear! There are so many :-) I definitely couldn't do anything at all without my rotary cutter and iron. They're two things I never thought of when I first started sewing, but they're indispensable and I use them more than my actual sewing machine!! xx

Yehudim@aol.com
Wow, I love finding out about new products. my favorite tool is my rotary cutter! thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteAh, the tool that I can't live without has got to be a chopstick! I have been on a coaster making kick and use it to poke out the corners when I turn 'em. And when it's not in use it makes a handy hair-stick to keep the hair out of my eyes. LOL!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful give-away! Hope I win!
xoxoxoxo Jaime

ReplyDeleteI would love to give the texture magic a try and your notebook cover is so cute. I like projects at Moda Bake Shop. I made a little fabric pouch yesterday, it's called a bookkeeper, for paperback books or the electronic book Kindle. I made mine a bit smaller to use for our passports for our upcoming vacation. My next project is a tote bag to take on my vacation, I'm using the Moda fabrics called Pack Your Bags.
ReplyDeleteLove this product! This would be great for baby quilts. My favorite product is the basting tool to connect safety pins when finishing quilts. Such a time saver.
ReplyDeletevery cool! I'd like to try this!
ReplyDeleteIt's the first time I've heard about Texture Magic, it looks great!
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! I've been seeing glimpses of that "shrinky stuff" in action--nice to know it can be found! I don't know how "fun" it is, but one of my favorite sewing products is spray baste. I'm primarily a quilter, and spray baste has changed my life! Seriously.

ReplyDeleteI'm new to sewing (have only done two projects so far) so I'm not too familiar with many products yet. So far my favorite "product" that I've used is actually a chop stick, to help poke the edges after turning a project inside out.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the great giveaway!
That looks like fun stuff to play with, haven't seen it before. My favorite thing has to be my seam ripper. I don't know what I'd do with out it. As I read somewhere on a blog, it's a frogging tool. Rip-it, Rip-it, Rit-it
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sewing projects are quilts. I like the creative results and unlike trying to follow clothing patterns, I seldom end up swearing and peering intently at the page trying to figure out what that diagram means. :) Much more relaxing to quilt.
ReplyDeleteA fun sewing product I love... I'm still pretty new to sewing so I love my new machine that has a variety of decorative stitches compared to my old plain one. tiffeg at gmail.com

Something new to me is fusible fleece - pliable and strong.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! That's cool! I haven't seen it before, either.
ReplyDeleteI like to use computer-printed shrinky dink sheets to make all kinds of embellishments. When I was teaching, I made an award for each of my students out of this stuff. You just design what you want, print it out, and shrink it in the oven. It's like the stuff we used to do as kids.
I love sewing anything I can get my hands on. I'm going to have to come back and try out this tutorial. I've already book marked it!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance!
How fun. I've been reading about that new product and thought it looked like such fun. Great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteOne of my finds that's fun to use would be Chizimi thread. You can take any fabric and with this thread in the bobbin and top stich around the fabric. Doing this in a criss cross type stitching on a long strip of organza the size of a scarf is very cool. Why? Once you are done stitching on the fabric, you hit that with some steam and it shrinks up much like this product you are giving away. It's really neat to play around with.
Ohhh that stuff looks like such fun!
ReplyDeleteFusible fleece is fantastic for giving a bit of body to bags and other projects. I also love Wonder Under for appliques.
