A "Wonderful" Giveaway!!!

Hello all! I am still around, it feels like I have been slacking major the last few months but I hope to be back on track now!

Have you seen this new book One-Yard Wonders it shows 101 sewing project that use around 1 yard of fabric or less! Well you can get this SPECIAL addition from Barnes and Noble that offers an additional 5 projects....
And guess what, my Baby Doll Carrier is one of the additional projects! I was super excited to be part of this project!

  4. Congratulations on making it into a book! I've been wanting to get a copy of that particular book myself. I'll be making baby gifts this holiday season for a few babies due after the new year. I'm also doing some window treatment sewing for a friend.

    I have had that book on my wishlist since it came out.
    This holiday season I will be doing quite a bit of crafting - several embroidery pieces and tote bags, ornaments and jewelry boxes.

  10. This year's Christmas theme is purses. However, I'm doing a couple of blankets for the grandparents who are beyond the cute purse stage. lol. Congrats on getting included in the book! I'm definitely going to have to make a trip over to B&B to pick one up as a Christmas gift.

  13. Well because of inspirations like YOURS I have decided this year that all of my gifts will be made from the heart. This is the first time I've ever done this, and as the holidays are nearing I am fearing that I may have taken a bite of more than I can chew!! I'm making things like scarves, a purse or two, table runners, doggie coats, aprons, the list goes on. Am I crazy?

  16. That looks like a great book, Congrats! Let's see do far I've made 3 purses, a baby blanket, a nightgown, started a small quilt and a quilllow. I still need to finish a Christmas wall hanging, 2 bags, a snowman doorstop, a fabric basket and knitting needle roll, and a couple items of clothing. Wow that looks really bad written out. I better get back to sewing!

  17. Let's see...sock monkeys, felt food, flower pins, napkins, nursing covers...I have a lot of work to do! All in the name of being thoughtful and thrifty! I'd love some new ideas. Maybe I'll find something to make for myself. (In January, of course!)

  18. That's really exciting Megan! I'll be working on some doll accessories for Sadie's first CPK doll - wouldn't the carrier instructions come in helpful! Of course some ornaments and pillow shams and 2 wall quilts. Also thinking of making some reusable shopping bags to wrap gifts in.

  20. I'm going to monogram "Snuggies" (those things that everyone secretly wants but would never admit it!). I also plan to make lots of other personalized gifts...just couldn't resist the Snuggies...LOL.

  23. Congratulations on being published:) VERY exciting! This year, after craft fairs are outta the way, Im focusing on making as many handmade gifts as I can possibly create. That'll include handbags for some, aprons for others and I need to come up with a great party favor idea for a couples Christmas party & sing-a-long we're hosting this year. Ive got so much sewing to do, so little time!:)

  25. Currently working on finishing...my daughter's dance recital costume (along with the other girls in her class), my ornament wreath, advent calendar, bows for the dance recital, and 2 dresses for Christmas presents for my daughter and niece. It's a never ending project at my house. LOL!

  29. Great project. Earlier this year I made 3 dolly carriers for gifts (birthday & Christmas) from a pattern in a local Australian magazine. They looked soo cute with co-ordinating mattresses, pillows & quilts. This Christmas I am attempting to make some table runners from charm packs. I have the tops done. Then I want 2 make 2 handbags. Oh and some stockings that have been waiting ever so patiently in the cupboard for a Christmas or two now.

    I'm currently working on a quilt for my son. I also have a reuseable lunch bag complete with snack bags to make for my sister and some pants for my hubby...along with a pile of fabric I'm still thinking about. It's going to be a busy holiday!!

  45. This year, my girl (three years old) will be decorating some linen with fabric markers to be made into coasters for all the grandmas and great-grandmas. I will also be making a couple of doll quilts and finishing up several knitting and crochet projects. Whew! I'd better get busy!

    This season, I'm going to make a candy cane countdown chart. My husband wants me to recreate the one he had as a kid. He has so many fond memories of it.

  47. I want this book SOOOOOO BAD! When I was growing up, my mom had us make homemade decorations every other year for our Christmas tree. Now I'm married and told my husband that I wanted to that this year as well. We would make the garland out of strings of popcorn and construction paper chains. My mom taught us how to make snow flakes and little swirls that were always fun, but I am looking to do something a little different and possibly a little more elegant. :)

  71. What a generous give away1 Congrats on being a part of the book. I am working on new throws for the family--crocheted. I am making stockings for a friend. I am also making hats, slipper socks and scarves for several people this year. In addition my daughter is an artist and a candy maker by hobby and she is making many, many kinds of gorgeous truffles and filled chocolates to share with friends and family. Sis and I are also making cookies including homemade biscotti and pizelles!

    As my family dont really celebrate xmas....So not really doing much things...but Chinese New Year is coming for next yr so will be doing some paper handicraft work to deco the house to make it more lifely and sweet....might also be sewing some items to give to friend as xmas gifts....

  85. How exciting about being in this book! I will be doing a lot of sewing, knitting, crocheting, and painting. I'll be making stuffed animals, scarfs, and blankets.I'm in college right now so money is very short so it is going to have to be a strictly homemade Christmas. I've got to make something for my boyfriend, 5 nieces, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, my parents, and my boyfriend's parents. This book would definitely come in handy because I'm in need of new ideas for some of these Christmas presents.
