Dresden Plate these may become an addiction......

Living in Dresden, I have always wanted to try a Dresden Plate Quilt block finally I decided to go ahead and give it a go, I searched around and found some great tutorials here & here!
It came together so much easier than I thought!
Here is my plate before I stitched the pieces together.
Here it is after! I just had to add my favorite contrast fabric, the black & white polka dot for the center!

If you would like some more inspiration check out these designs here, here & here.....

Linen Stars

I love these stars! I made some for the Bushfire Quilt Project and finally decided to make some for myself, this time I have used linen as the background color! I think they may become a table runner! Here is a great tutorial on how to piece the stars!

Will the "crazyness" ever end?

I feel like I have been abandoning my blog so much lately, the last 2 weeks have been super crazy. Hopefully to be settling down soon! School is now back in session my 5yr old will start next week but there has been orientation and testing and so on.
I wanted to share a great find with everyone! I recently came across the store of Saras Art on etsy I fell in LOVE with her work, she sells her actual paintings but she has prints for those of us on a tight budget! I got these 4 prints and framed them, they will soon be hanging on my wall next to this quilt. Take the time to stop by Sara's blog and check out her "art house" such an inspiration!

I have been sewing a little, taking custom orders for resting/nap towels.

I had to get this on film, the hubby almost got this sweet baby with the weed-whacker.

More to come soon! Have a happy day! Meg

For the boys....

My little one will be starting kindergarten in a few weeks and amongst the list of items needed was a resting towel, they have gotten a lot stricter (no rugs, mats and it had to be with in a certain dimension) I found this blue towel that met the criteria and we decided it need a little something so I appliqued his name on it. He loves it, I am going to make a few more of them for the little relatives starting school as well!
I love how excited the boys get when I make them something, they always love the fat that it has been made just for them. They each got a new pair of sleep shorts. My nephew Cam choose a fun farm print. while mine went with the construction fabric! 1 yard of fabric + 2 hours = 2 happy little boys Have a Happy Friday! Meg
