My Pretty New Apron

I have wanted to make myself a ruffled  apron every since I saw these post!  It really is to provide a function as well as look cute while I am doing it!  I work with a lot of fondant when making cakes and I get a ton of cornstarch all over my shirt.
I saw this cupcake print and knew it would be perfect for my new apron!
and everything in life is better with polka dots!
now my dilemma is I do not want to get my pretty new apron dirty......

Hope you are having a fabulous Friday!

Attempting Lattice Smocking….

I have been doing some research on smocking I love the look and I thought it would be fun to try!

I started mine with an 18 x 18 inch square
it is a bit hard to tell in the pic but I blocked it off in 1x1 inch squares with a 1.5 inch boarder
I drew in my stitch lines
 and began to stitch
this is a back view about half finished
 front view
I added a 3 inch border and it is going to become a new pillow!
It is not perfect but I think it is pretty good for my 1st try!
 finished back view.
Hope you are having a fabulous day!

My Sewing Room

I like to think of my sewing room as organized disarray! I know where everything is most of the time,  I just uncovered the top of my table so I thought I would take a pic before it disappears again.
My fabric cabinet I do need to refold my fabrics so it looks pretty again!
I finally got my bulletin board up and pinned up my postcard collection from my sewing friends from all over the world!
 this is my table,
I just found the top again, it has been missing since before Christmas ...
It makes things so much easier when you have space to work!
You can also see I am working on the binding for my Fab Little Quilt & also an adorable paper pieced Matriochka Doll  quilt block you can find the pattern here
This is in my living room wall!  My aunt gave me this vintage yellow curtain rod and I hung wide black ribbon from it!  I think it makes the perfect mini quilt display!

Hope you are having a happy Leap Day!
