~Spring has finally Sprung~

I think this is the most beautiful my lilacs have ever been!  I had only 6 blooms last year and told my husband he could cut it down,  I am so thankful he did not listen to me!

~The To Do List~

It just keeps getting longer and longer!  I have a stack of quilts that need to be finished but I keep planning on more! Such is the way of life of a fabric addict!  Any way I ordered some felt from Heather Baileys store and it arrived, it is so pretty I can not wait to start playing with it!  I have some new flower headband ideas that I can't wait to try out!
 next on my list...
this stack of YUMMY fabrics
will be part of my next  my next project.  I finally found some dotty fabric in red and white. I have been drooling over this quilt since I first saw this cover of Material Obsession!

I am not even sure how I missed blogging this!  I was super excited when my DQS10 arrived and it turned out to be the quilt I had been "stalking" on flicker in hopes of it showing up on my doorstep!  The amazing Rachael of Blue Mountain Daisy did a perfect job in creating a quilt that represents everything I LOVE!
The back is just as amazing!
I am highly considering making a replica on a larger scale for my new living room.
Just one more thing to add to my to do list.....
The sun is finally shinning here!
I hope you are having a happy day!

~Play Room~

We recently reorganized some rooms in our home to create a Play Room for the kids.  I thought it was so funny because the first thing my little boy said was "mom you need to make a sign for the door", he knows his mother well. I wanted something fun and colorful (as always) so this is what I came up with!

First I used Word Art in my Microsoft Word program and typed in the letters for play room
then I flipped them backwards
so when I traced them onto the wonder under they would be correct.
then I ironed them on to the fabric and cut out the letters!
Ironed them onto a piece of white fabric and cut the rest of the shapes free hand.
I used a "sketchy applique" or freehand applique
do not look too closes my freehand still needs a little work!
I have been wanting to make a little banner.
I have been seeing a lot of these lately and they are so cute
I am really happy how it turned out! I think it is perfect for a Play Room!
I hope you are having a wonderful day!

~nanaCompany~

I have been a huge fan of Amy's from nana Company for a while now!  I have loved seeing her creativity through her photos on flickr. She has a way with colors and her workmanship is impeccable! She has recently started a blog you can check out here. She also had a give away and I was super excited when I found out that I was the winner!  Here are some photos of the great items I received!

This sweet cottage place mat!
Keep a watch out as she has plans to sell the pattern for this cottage place mat in her shop soon!

I love these nesting fruit cases & a bag of wood craft letter chips
(I already have plans for these!)

Four fat quarters of Moda Sweet stripes by Urban Chiks.

And a fat quarter of this super cute Merry Bonbon Merry Critters fabric from Lecien.

Stop by Amy's blog and say hi!
I am sure we will be seeing many more pretty little things to come from this lady!
Have a Happy Day!

~Paint Palette Pin Cushion Tutorial~

Materials Needed:
"Flower" shaped Paint Palette ~I got mine from Hobby Lobby~
7 different colored fabric squares 6"x6"
Marking pen
Sewing Machine
Thread
Scissors
Fiber Fill
Hot Glue gun
Painter Palette
Rainbow assortment of fabrics
For my circle "template" I used a bowl with a 5 1/2" diameter.
Trace on to fabric with marking pen.
 Cut out.
Stitch a gathering stitch 1/4" (on my machine it is a 7)
all around the edge of the circle
Pulling the end threads, gather the sides in.
 Leave a small opening.
Using a small hand full of the fiber fill stuff the fabric piece
until it is nice and rounded.  You do not want to over
stuff but it should be firm enough to hold pins.
Tie off the gathered end threads.
Now repeat with the remaining 6 fabric rounds.
Using a hot glue gun.
Fill the center first and insert the stuffed fabric round.
Make sure to tuck in the edges so it is nice and smooth looking.
Now repeat until the tray if full!
 These make great little gifts!

Happy Sewing!
