It's a Blooming Bag!

I have been having a major withdrawal from taking photos I broke my beloved camera and am in the process of getting a new one. In the meantime my sister has let me borrow hers as I think she is tired of listening to me whine!

I got the new Quilts and More magazine which also happens have a wonderful article on Anna Maria Horner! She also share the pattern for this which I have been dying to get my hands on! If you have not already you must check it out!

Also in the addition they have a great pattern for a Blooming bag. This bag turned out very sweet and tiny. In my opinion it is quite time consuming for such a small end product but I am sure I will make more as it is so sweet! I think next time I will enlarge the pattern so the bag will be bigger!

All the pieces cut.

Here I have most pieces sewn and laid out.

It did turn out like the photo!

Up close view.

Also don't forget to check out the Encore Ginger Blossom launch on Etsy! Starting today MArch 27th!

Need an Easter Egg? I have a few!

It is tradition at my house that I always have the kids over to color Easter Eggs. (I think this is in part because the other mothers know the mess will be here and not at their houses ;) anyway I love doing it! This year Ben insisted we have a "big" party he wanted cupcakes and decorations and candles and party hats and so on .......... I had to keep reminding him it was not his birthday but he was having so much fun!

The Decorations

The CupcakesMy dear sweet sister boiled all 96 eggs! She was my hero!
The kids had so much fun! (Please ignore the lovely kitchen wall we are in the middle of a huge remodel!)

The end product! Was so colorful & pretty!

I had asked Ben after the party was over and everything was cleaned up and I was exhausted if it was all he had hope for and he said "Oh yes Mommy I had so much fun!" I guess that makes it all worth it!

March of Tools

I just had to do a post to honor Heather Bailey's March of Tools here are a few of my favorite kitchen tools.

This sandwich press "my son loves" and I use on a daily basis! At any random time in a day my son will ask for a cheese & mayonnaise sandwich in a circle and this is where this tool comes in to action so perfectly slicing off the crust and pressing in to a fun sealed circle!

I also love my mushroom slicer (my thoughtful husband purchased for me!) , very handy when slicing a mass amount of mushrooms, but very sharp I have received a few battle wounds from this little too!

Here is a sneak peek at a new tote I have been working on! Patch work with linen for a bright cherry summer look! I hope to have finished pics very soon.

Also how cute is this kitty!!!! I made it for my niece and she just loves it. I found the free pattern to download from Wee Wonderfuls great website! Check out the other patterns to download for free! SO much fun!

That is all for now! Have a happy evening! Meg

New Purse Design

Here are some photos of a new purse pattern I have been working on there are still a few details to work out but I am happy how it turned out overall! I love the Chocolate Lollipop fabric by Anna Maria Horner ! This is a nice roomy handbag approx 13"L x 9"H x 5"D. it has 2 interior pockets and a zipper closure. I love the plaid bottom base and the side grommets w/bows! I would love to hear feedback if you want to leave me a comment or email!

Happy Birthday to me..........

Yesterday was my 29th Birthday! My mom made me my favorite cake and fried chicken for dinner, she only make this about 4 times a year so I did not feel quilty about eating my share of the yummieness, plus it was my birthday so calories don't count! My thoughtful husband got me a portable hard drive to save all of my photos on due to the fact I have over 10,000+ photos saved on my computer, I am not sure why I have never backed them up before because I would sit and cry for weeks if anything ever happened to them!

Here is a little peek at my progress on my quilt squares I am saddend at the fact I will not have enough fabric to make a quilt for my bed so I am doing a wall quilt which I will still put in new bed room! I am going to piece it together strips of fabric from Sandi Hendersons new line I can not wait to show everyone the finished product!

Mother nature is teasing us with Spring today it is 65 degrees out side right now and the sun is shining. I took the boys for a walk to get slushies and let them play with the side walk chalk for an hour they were a powery mess but it was so wonderful to be outside again!

Unfornately it is only to go down hill from here this week lots of rain and colder temperatures!

But least we have something to look forward to it is March!

Have a Happy Day! Meg
