Busy Busy Me.....

I have been making bags like crazy here the last few days I don't know why I do it! I will go for sometimes a week with out making anything and then the next week I can't create enough! This happen to be a week like that I have made 3 bags in the last 2 days and have more on the way! Here is a peek at my progress!
I have had this Fresh cut Fabric forever and
I finally decided to cut into it!

I do love how this pattern turned out
& I love the sash bow!

I still love the Garden Party Fabric I used quite
a few prints here in a patch work design.

Another sash bow this one I added
a contrast color decorative stitching!

This fabric was to pretty to cut up so I tried
to leave the flowers in one piece!

More to come later and don't forget to check back in later in the week for a great giveaway!

Have a happy day! Meg

Bridal Showers & Birthay Parties

I hosted a bridal shower with my mother in law this weekend for my soon to be sister in law! Her colors for her wedding are green and orange which I just love!
I love giving creative & useful gifts so I decided to put together a towel cake (similar to the so popular diaper cakes) I rolled small bath towels and then decorated with bath theme items like bubble bath, lotion, a back brush and sponge! It was a big hit and a fun gift to give.

I also got to do the cupcakes
I piped green icing
and added a orange fondant daisy!

and some festive fruit kabobs! Now off to a birthday party.....................
I will be back tomorrow with another how to tutorial!
& there will be a give away this week!
Enjoy your afternoon!

New Purse & Pincushions

I simply love Anna Maria Horner's new fabric line Garden Party I am so inspired by the beautiful color pallet, which leads me to my new handbag I finished today I have 3 more in the works but it was a beautiful day and I wanted to get photos and my Double Knockout Rose Bush is in bloom so I thought it was only right that it be in the photos as well, seeing how this fabric was inspired by the colors in the flower garden!

I had to add a flower pin I wanted to tie some

of that magenta fabric in to the mix!

Speaking of fabric flowers I am on a kick I want

to add them to everything! I love how this pincushion

turned out! I looks pretty enough to eat!

Have a happy evening! Meg

Butterflies in the Garden......

I had butterflies on the mind this week!
How fun is this!!!! It is not my original idea I saw it somewhere a while ago and I had to try it out with my own little twist!

Shrinky Dink Pin Heads

Materials:
Box Shrinky Dink Plastic (I got this little kit at Hobby Lobby)
Paper Punch (Martha Stewart of course)
Extra Long Straight Pins
Oven & Baking Sheet
Paint & Brushes

Begin by punching out patterns in Shrinky Dink Plastic,
you can draw and cut out images by hand as well!

Then push a straight pin through the center of the piece.

Place on baking sheet and bake according to the
instructions on the shrink dink pkg.
This photo shows the butterfly before and after it has been baked.
With most Shrink Dinks you color with a colored pencil and
then bake, but for mine I waited till after the pin heads had baked
and cooled and then I painted the butterflies!

Finished Butterflies! I think these will make some perfect swap gifts!

More Butterflies 2 new totes will be in my Etsy shop soon!

I used Heather Bailey Freshcut Fabrics for this pretty Flutter Tote

In this tote I use fabrics from Amy Butlers Midwest Modern

Collection and paired it with brown linen for a perfect look!

As for the garden! I got in some new prints of Anna Maria Horner's new fabric line Garden Party! I can't wait to get started on some new designs! Such a beautiful color pallet!! Purchased through Sew Mama Sew!

Also I am super excited to say I am busy working on a new handbag pattern that will be for sale in my etsy store soon! There will be a give away in the near future! Stay tuned......................

Have a Happy Day!

Fabric Flower Tutorial

Material needed:

2- 3" x 3" fabric squares
Wonder Under
Iron
Marking pen
scissors
sewing machine
print flower pattern to approx: 3"x3"Iron wonder under on to back side of 1st fabric square,
let cool then remove paper backing and match up 2nd fabric square to
back side of 1st and iron together.
You can use the same fabric print or mix it up!

Referring to flower diagram below:
Take cut out flower and fold in half and pin into place.
Next make a diagonal line with marking pen and
sew in to place back stitch to make sure it will stay.
Then with the tip of a pair of scissors place the point in to
the center of the 3 petals and pull the 5 remaining petals
forward (in-side-out) over the tip of the scissors .

Finished flower should look like this!
You can finish the edges with fray check if you like.
Make as many as you want!

Have Fun Creating!
For this flower pin I added a few leaves and hot glued the flowers on to
a cardboard round and covered with felt and added a pin back.
Great to add a little flair to a tote or purse!

For this flower I hot glued them all to a lobster clasp hair clip.
Looks pretty to wear with a sash or attached to a pony tail!

Enjoy! Meg
