A few New Designs

Well I have been busy at work sewing away and it has been raining all day here which is much needed!

School is getting ready to start and my niece has been getting bored so she sat down with a bag of my beading supplies while I worked on a new tote using the Pop Garden fabrics.

I knew from the moment I saw this print I wanted to pair it with a chocolate brown cord!

While my niece sat busy beading I decided to do a little beading of my own. I have a ton of pastel seed beads left over from beading Easter eggs and the colors matched the fabric perfect!

I love how it turned out! I completely understand why

this fabric line was named Pop Garden the colors totally pop!

This is the design I came up with for the Gallerbay Mini Halloween Launch!

Perfect for you little one to carry around to collect Trick or Treat candy!

This tote is now listed on ebay!

Really Already???????

Is it really that time already? I am in the process of getting my fall collection together and my new ebay Boutique Group GalleryBay is having a Mini Halloween launch starting tomorrow!

Bling it on..............

I love anything that sparkles and I love to add a little glitz to the bags I make. For years I hand ironed on the tiny rhinestones and then I found this little "cheap" tool and it has been bliss every since!

It has a different tips for the various size of the hot fix stones!

Just be careful the heated tip gets super hot!

This is a custom for a young girl I hope she loves it!
I always look for the perfect place to set the stones to enhance

the design rather than over do it and these little crowns are perfect This is still one of my all time favorite designs using the

IronWork Scroll fabric from Michael Miller.

So Many Apples Oh My.........................

My apples trees are full with fruit! I am not sure what to do with them all if you were my neighbor I would invite you over to pick a basket full! They are not the best eating apples but they are wonderful to cook with. We have been compiling recipes of all the yummy dessert's you can make with apples, we started off with Carmel Apple Crisp served warm with vanilla ice cream of course . Any one have a great recipe to share? I did get to a new purse done this week. More Garden Party I just can't get enough of this fabric! To be listed soon in my Etsy Store!

Button Covered Magnets

I have been making tons of these to decorate my refrigerator! They are simple and quick!

Material needed

button cover kit- I used 7/8" (2.2cm)

magnets- I used 7/8" rounds

needle nose pliers

hot glue & glue gun

fabric scraps

First you need to remove the metal loop to the back of the button.

I used the needle nose pliers and just pulled it off easily!

Use a fabric scrap that is twice the diameter of the button

place fabric on to button maker and push button shell in to place

pull fabric tight and trim excess fabric

fold fabric inward toward the button shell

Place metal back over top of fabric and push in to place

then pop button out

Using a hot glue gun put a blob of glue on to back of the fabric

cover button and push magnet in to place.

Use to decorate your refrigerator of metal file cabinets!

Any Way You Slice It

I thought I would try this pattern called Any Way You Slice It by Denyse Schmidt . I only have 4- 9" squares done and so far I love how it looks! I used a mix of fabrics from Heather Bailey, Sandi Henderson & Jennifer Paganelli and I added the polka dot slice for contrast, which I know will drive my mom crazy but I love the look! What do you think???
On another note I finished this Jonas Brothers tote! If you have a big JB fan feel free to contact me as I will be doing a version of this tote in custom orders only!

Framed Memo Board Tutorial

Framed Memo Board Tutorial

Items Needed:

Lg. Frame

Cardboard

Quilt Batting

Fabric

Ribbon

Hot Glue Gun

*I bought a frame from the dollar store! I sanded it a little and then

painted it aqua and dry brushed lime green over top.

I love how it turned out!

First cut a piece of card board to fit inside the frame.

I used the mat that came with the frame as a guide.

Then cut a piece of quilt batting to the same size

as the card board piece.

Place card board on top of fabric and use as a

guide to cut the out fabric piece. It needs to overlap

approximately 2 inches wide on all sides of cardboard.

Place batting on to back side of fabric.

Place cardboard over batting.

Using the hot glue gun run a bead of glue along one edge of cardboard.

Carefully pull fabric over top of glue to tack in to place.

Follow this step on remaining 3 sides of cardboard.

The fabric does not need to be pulled really tight,

just enough so the fabric lays nice and flat over the batting.

Carefully turn corners of fabric under and glue in to place.

Try and keep fabric flat so the board will fit in to the frame nicely!

Repeat till you have all the corners tacked in to place.

This is how the board should look once fabric is glued in to place.

I added ribbon to give it a French Memo look!

I cut ribbon pieces and lay them out on top of the board

to see how I wanted them arranged before I started

to glue in to place. You can use less or more ribbon

depending on the look you are going for!

Using small dots of hot glue tack ribbons down in desired pattern!

Place fabric board in to frame and tack in to place.

(Some frames come with backings and some don't, if yours

has a back make sure your fabric board in not to bulky to put it back on.)

Finished board!!!

Decorated and hanging in my Kitchen!

I used some straight pins to hang photos as well as using the ribbon!
